An Idea for
Overtown
A TEDxOvertown talk is not a résumé, a sales pitch, or simply a personal story. It is a carefully developed idea grounded in evidence and lived experience that can create meaningful change in Overtown and resonate far beyond it.
Not fame.
Not a pitch.
An idea that begins with a question, challenge, or possibility that matters to the people who live, learn, work, and create in Overtown.
A talk informed by Overtown’s history, culture, people, and priorities not one that treats the community as a backdrop.
An idea that can strengthen local lives, institutions, or conversations and continue creating value after the event ends.
The idea should matter in Overtown first. Its wider relevance should grow from the specificity, honesty, and usefulness of its local connection.
The commitment
at a glance.
Selected speakers must commit to the full development process from onboarding and coaching. Attendance at every session below is required, along with meeting writing, slide, and production deadlines.
